this Q has a solution in the question which should not be there. There are a couple answers that are, in essence, the same as the solution OP put in the question. Would it be ok if I removed it and not place it in a CW answer, because there are existing answers that are almost the same?

@Gimby My thinking on these types of questions: As a set, these questions were attracting VLQ/NAA answers. Neither were so bad to justify closing, on their own. Questions without upvoted or accepted answers can't be dupe targets, so as similar questions come up there's nowhere to point. Now, are they exact dupes? No. But the general one has a chance of helping more people, while the specific typo-ish one could help 1. But, it can help more as a marker. Hence the close-dupe. Make sense?

@cimmanon definitely, but it also attract useful ressources for hard problem to not reinvent the wheel. @Kyll @PetterFriberg because some question will be border line, I could be help or tools (like my example), and it's like this in many case I think. And it could be like cutting CSS and Javascript in two community, people would have to post question on two stack community.

@Drew I was not exactly referring to your PHP JS front end effort but more to the the wording you use where you seem to disqualify a group of users. It is not alway clear if you're referring to the room users, SO users, your family, colleagues, US citizens or the world population at large. So I either need to adjust my Drew filter bit or you need to see if you intended to give me the feeling that you're disqualifying users.

Basically use a bit more context and become less Dutch in your communication. Leave that to me.

@crazyfr Borderline questions often can be edit or upgraded to fit SO, general tool request seem only to attract spam, link only answers (that quickly go brook or are outdated). I think SO is focusing on complete and verifiable answers on software problems, not being a hub for external links... Since they have open a sub site your battle is admirable but it will be nearly impossible to win.

@crazyfr although SE is an organisation and the "powers that be" have the last say, it prides itself on community input. The community and the organisation doesn't want recommendations, there is also a softwareRecommendations.SE and a HardwareREcommendations.SE. And as has been mentioned here, it attracts spam and link only answers, which have proven not to survive the ravages of time. So the site doesn't want them.

@crazyfr that is the point of duplicates, you need to look at the duplicate links and all the discussion. Sometimes the community will reopen things as time has gone by and they are prepared to discuss it again, other times, they do not, as it's considered a closed subject. Judging by the downvotes, you are swimming against the tide and the community has voted. Beyond this I can't really help you.

@AndrasDeak I don't think that will happen. The reason they are allowed to answer is sometimes someone completely new might see something they can answer and SO wants answers.

While I agree that people really should have properly registered accounts - it's not required to ask a first question. If that first question isn't great but isn't spam for instance then it'll only take 6 x 15rep users to get the user's account deleted.

While in the vast majority of cases, it'd be used correctly and probably save time, it's just too open to potential abuse
