It does suck. I applied for a job, got a 6-month internship with promises of a real offer at the end because I "didn't have enough experience" so they weren't sure, then 5.5 months later they bought a company and had a hiring freeze so they asked me to hang on for 6 more months, then a week before that 6 months would've been up they asked me to extend it another 3 months and just not tell anyone that I was working as an intern past the max of 1 year.

And then I was like "okay so you do not have an offer for me thank you goodbye."
