That gaming/appetizer bit starts at around 2-3.

I've had to work on new years before. That sucked.

I got home at 6:30. There was no joy.

I just found out that I have to use up all of my vacation time by Dec 31st.

We already get off on the 25, and 1/2 day on the 24th.

And I have ~66 hours.

i got suckered into working on christmas once. some guy asked me to take his shift as a favor so he could go be with his girlfriend. girlfriend worked at the same place and couldnt get someone to take her hours, so he just hung out at work anyway.

@LynnCrumbling I somehow managed once to have 3 months worth of vacation. I worked a day less per week for a year.... (the other option was to drop everything I was working on and leave for 3 months)

so he just took a year of paid leave one year before he retired

Yeah, the problem is that vacation has to be activated on the balance sheet. That reservation hurts if you're in a body shop

@TylerH Teachers here can do a 3-for-4 arrangement once in their career. For three years their salary is paid at 3/4, then they take a one-year sabbatical at 3/4.
