@TimPost I don't think permanent CVs on questions that take a long time to close (months/years) count as wasted/squandered/problematic. The SE team does, it seems. I don't know why you/they do, but this difference in opinion is irreconcilable, at least for now. — TylerHMar 2 at 19:31
yeah, i'm not sure why the close vote again is around now. Formally it was "if you are under 100 views all votes stick", which was fine for the most part
declining -- you can always cast a reopen vote if the post gets closed.
Also note that all close votes automatically expire after two days.

I found four different git questions that I think are duplicates, but I don't know enough about git to be 100% sure. Where should I ask for help with this? On Meta? A chat room (which?)?
I have read/write access to a repo on GitHub. I have a local clone of that repo. I'd like to be able to pull changes from that remote, but I should never push changes to it.
Is there a way I can mark the remote as read-only so I never accidentally type in the wrong command and push to it?
I am using git and I am doing my development work, which I don't want to push, even by mistake. Is there a method to disable push in certain local repository. One method is to rename the branch, another is to undo push if one does it by mistake, but I hope there should be more direct method.
