As a quick update on this: they're still coming in on a regular basis. Adam made changes to block suspended users and to hide requests from deleted users... So as a temporary solution, I have a script that'll dismiss and destroy the author of any topic requests where the title contains more than a nominal amount of CJK characters. It runs every 3 minutes, and appears to be keeping up with the flood. We'll try & get a more robust solution in place later. Needless to say, testing this by posting requests containing CJK characters would be a very bad idea. — Shog9 ♦ Dec 11 at 18:37

@JanDvorak yes because how am I supposed to remember that syntax and also check to make sure I'm in a room with smokey and that that feature exists and also move from one tab to another after copying a link that isn't readily exposed, when I could just click edit, make some relevant change, then click save
it's so much slower
especially since I've already flagged for spam anyway

the percentage of times I would edit a spam link (which is only one possible kind of post that has a harmful link, not the only kind) is far less than 1%
also, what's the percentage of times a spam poster rolls back an edit to their post?
I'm guessing around the .01% range

@codeMagic if it is very recent (say, newer than 1 minute), written in such a way that it is likely to not be seen as obvious spam, the link is well hidden, the link goes to a site that will silently install crypto locker on your computer, etc. It's tough to describe an exact one; it's a 'you know it when you see it' kind of thing
@JanDvorak I don't really want you to do anything. You can do whatever you please. Though I doubt there's any such rule that says we are not allowed to edit spam posts
At most there might be a CM who says they would recommend we don't
