It's kinda like hooking your applications directly into the kernel. Instead of having a bunch of confusing garbage from 30 years ago between your app and the kernel.

That's an over generalization. It basically is a display server that offloads all of the kernel work on the kernel and the app work on the apps.... it does as little as possible... yeah it's lazy but fast.

While the answer is not a strict copy/paste the author is digging up old questions (2013 and 2014) and answering in extremely similar ways, always to show his library.
