@MarkI Rebol has, very little theoretical foundations, or higher order functional foundations, behind it.

It's a mechanical language, much more Turing than Church.

ZIP in Rebol takes a block of FILE! and data blobs to make a compressed archive, and I think that speaks to the difference.
