So I have <a> inside a img_container class

When I change it so the hyperlinks don't change color when they are hovered or clicked, it also changed other built in sharepoint links

is this CSS correct?

smaller (e.g. mobile) devices typically employ a 'hamburger menu' wherein they show three lines as an icon that you can tap to expand a menu, which may then expand/shrink within itself like an accordion

that CSS looks valid; whether it's "correct" depends on the HTML it applies to and what effect you expect
