Thanks for the Help Tyler im going to run through and translate the entire document into spanish, but can i leave the ids and classes in english?

@Kwsswart sure thing, I don't think it checks for language of classes/ids because those can be nonsense strings

Really it is probably just detecting alt-code characters in the body and saying "hey, this isn't lang="en"

and getting all the same error messages

I have no idea why

a big one being why its asking me about the <DOCTYPE html> when its there

I don't see any of the 3 error messages from your question in the validator when I run it through, actually

I do see quite a few other errors, though

what validator are you using?

@Kwsswart When I press Ctrl+U to get the source and then paste that into the validator (direct input) here are the errors/warnings I get:

some quick things you can fix: remove the <foot> elements, move the <footer> inside the <body> tag, and swap your span and p positions (span should be inside of p, not the other way around)

also looks like you just put the target=_blank bit in the wrong element for one of the links
