I developed a home automation android app. My app connects to arduino through Bluetooth. Problem is that it is consuming battery very much. My SOT was 2.5hrs and battery used is 11%. And my app running time is 1 hrs and it drained 20% battery. I am new to android so maybe I did some mistakes closing connection on app stop and app pause

Actually I didn't used onPause() and onStop() at all.

I was thinking, app is draining battery due to non implementation of onStop and onPause

you can override it and handle persist of data. stop network call etc
