Voting for nobody is not the same as not voting. For example, in UK elections, some people deliberately "spoil" their ballot paper as a protest, or to say "none of the above".

In my country you can submit a blank vote. It's considered better than not voting. It counts as part of the percentage that voted.

True.. I've seen a youtube video with a guy that went through all kinds of stuff to get the squirrel to not steal the food. They were nice about it :) Then their spouse had enough and they decided to make a little squirrel-buffet instead where they put bigger nuts in and they're now at peace with the situation :)

I'd prefer not to look at the motivation of the voter, though. Even if it is just the badge that causes them to vote - that still increases the representation. After all, one still has to vote for someone once getting to the page
