@RoshanJha you won't be able to ping them like that, unfortunately - the chat can only ping those who talked in the last 7 days or are currently present in the room. I haven't seen Tanaike around for a while here, though - you'll probably have better chances on main
in any case, you are correct - the Apps Script version only has 4 methods and no setters
you can also request Google to add new ones on the public issue tracker, but due to a sheer number of issues they get and the fact that Slides is not the most "hot" product, it is unlikely that the changes are made. However, it is always good to make them aware there is a demand
^ I've never tried to implement in-app messaging so I am pretty sure I'll not be able to help the OP (and they are already in contact with Google support), but maybe somebody encountered this in their day-to-day? It's the usual 403 "The caller does not have permission", but all the usual reasons are out of the question
