@CodyGray: by charging money, you would change the dynamic of who controls content. Currently, it is the community who vets the quality and appropriateness of the question, but once changed into a fee-for-service, it is those paying the fee who would decide on the appropriateness and importance of the question (by say, offering more money for an acceptable answer). This would increase leverage for those asking low-quality and low-attention questions, and would undoubtedly improve the situation for this small sub-group of people. Perhaps some of those posts were "given" to me. Most of them I searched for and a lot of them were duplicates or linked to from another post. It's a maze to figure out which to read and which to skip, so I didn't skip any. I spend the better part of two months on meta just to get acquainted with the inner workings on the site. Hanging out in SOCVR is certainly not a bad place for discussions about curating the site. Starting from scratch on Stack Overflow does work extremely well, since we have a huge library of existing Q&A for you to read and learn from. What doesn't work well is starting from scratch by asking questions. That's not how you start. You start by reading and searching. Then, if you have a question about what you read, you can ask a question about it. That question will almost certainly go over well, because it'll be specific, focused, and will include evidence of research. I think the account reset by email is a very interesting and problematic aspect. I suspect that you can reset even a Teams account with you main email, I'm not sure if the password-reset dialog also takes your other emails linked to authentication providers. (1) belongs probably to the SU, (2) to the askubuntu (but also Unix & Linux SE matches), (3) might be problematic but could be interpreted as "what is the spec sheet for the scope X". Don't flag the Questions as "Very Low Quality". The flag means: Harmful, delete it now. It's basically useless and it's not a close flag. In case it doesn't get deleted, downvoting the answer is an indicator to other users and the one who posted the answer that the voter doesn't consider it useful to be on the site. Somewhere in the comments the fear was raised that an announcement of a downvote survey would lead to additional unwarranted downvotes. I just looked at the number of downvotes and there is hardly an uptick visible and if so only on 15th October. But with ~6000 downvotes daily on average I wonder if the 500 surveys limit has already been reached. If so, why not collecting more surveys. Maybe there is a way to edit the question and answers and improve it enough so that the deletion is not warranted.
