The person who posted content without permission may have (depending on many factors, such as fair use and whether the content was copyrightable in the first place) violated the author's copyright, as well as Stack Overflow policy. The author may have legal remedies against the poster. You (or anyone who notices such copying) should also flag the post for moderator attention to alert moderators to the copying, as copied content must at least be cited under SO policy. — Ryan M 1 min ago

I've offered lots of bounties of all sizes and 50 points gets about the same amount of response that 100 or 200 does. [gas-web-app] was the master tag and you told us you reverse synonymized it.There are real advantages to the shorter tag. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know about any issues with "chaining". How did [*-html-service] also get synonymized? I feel like either I'm missing a lot of background, or you're somehow making a mess of the tagging system. I distinctly remember saying elsewhere that I'm opposed to making [web-applications] a synonym of some Google-specific tag. That hasn't changed. I don't see any advantages to a shorter tag. Sorry I didn't follow this post. See chaining. Basically, creating google-apps-script-web-application was a mistake. A generic [web-application] tag should be enough to categorize or search the question.But I not only created the tag, but retagged most of them. I thought it warranted a separate tag then. [google-apps-script-web-application] is nothing but Google-apps-scriot on server side and a hosted webpage on the client side. I thought the iframe was unique and made the tag. I realize I made a mistake. This would never work. Just take a look at Triage, where absolute dumpster fires of questions still get heaps of "seems fine" votes, sometimes from 10k+ users. Everything more complex than a typo would be rated high quality. One thing that might help, but I'm not completely sure about it. Make your question about the smallest possible, indivisible unit of the problem, that you cannot solve for yourself. Shorter and easier questions have a higher probability to get an answer, I think. Rather err on the side of asking too little than too much in a question. Rather ask a string of questions, each going only a very small step along the way. Finally, everything can be connected together. That may not always be that easy though. — Trilarion 1 min ago

featured, then it should not be in the HMP, so that’s good, but status-completed posts could still be of interest sometime after tagged that. My concern is that posts criticising the company will be manually taken out of the HMP. I’m not really sure why you’re so worried about rude posts. They should be taken down as quickly as possible, so they’re not likely to sit in HMP for very long. Also; wrongly tagging as support instead of discussion is not good. The HMPs are randomly selected from all qualifying posts every hour or so. - On an active meta site, there could be dozens of qualified questions at any given time, making it unlikely that any one question will be selected. This also works in conjunction with the number of featured blog posts and featured meta questions on the site... But we'll take each case individually and will be working with the mods. @Andreas We're not against making adjustments to how the HMPs work - we can certainly think about solutions like letting status tags work for the first n hours but that'll have to wait until we start looking at this in Q4. There is value in letting people know about completed discussions but there's also value in making sure people are aware of the next important discussion, as there's only a two-week window where those can be visible in the HMP. That doesn't mean that questions seen as particularly damaging to the company wouldn't ever be removed but that's not the focus of our concern and I believe they'd be less likely to be removed. We are cognizant of the impact removing such messages would be, so we have to balance the impact of removal with the impact of letting them be featured on SO randomly every hour. — Catija ♦ 1 min ago

If you want to take away the reputation that posted the bounty, you need to keep the question for at least 60 days!! — Braiam 35 secs ago

My answer was talking about rewriting a question without invalidating answers. I.e. making it say what you really intended. If you ask a completely different question you may well find it gets downvoted and deleted. — Robert Longson 1 min ago

I don't see an issue with
[status-*] tags removing a post from the HMP, even as a permanent feature. It already worked that way for some [status-] tags and now moderators have even more control in applying *correct tags to a post to remove it from the HMP section. What I wouldn't want to see in HMP's return is mods having to add status-completed to questions that the tag doesn't apply to just to get them removed from HMP. — TylerH 53 secs agoThen I could at least try to merge all three questions and answers into one deleted Q/A.
