We have community guidelines, and while some mods handle stuff differently, there's a world of difference between handling an answer differently, and changing how a mod handles NAA flags (because that's currently the assumption I'm going under). Because it's not about programming in bash, it's about a guessing game of "where on my disk is there something being run that's affecting my environment". If it is a programming problem, it lacks an actual MCVE, so there's no possibility of giving a definitive answer. @TejasShetty The best thing you can do is make a copy of your .bashrc and .bash_profile files and then clean them out. Restart bash reading the empty configuration files and see if you still have the problem. If the problem persists, bash is not the issue but something else. The way I have read the quote in OP's post above is that any question about tools used primarily for programming is OK (considering it doesn't run afoul of other off-topic rules). Bash is, AFAIK, used primarily for programming (AFAIK it actually is only used for programming) -- thus a question about a configuration error in Bash is OK here. Put another way, "How to configure a program" is off-topic here, except when the program is one used primarily for programming. I have done this many times in the past (almost always for comments by the answer author) -- edit a substantial or length comment response into the answer and then flag said comment (and any related ones) for deletion. @TylerH As I'm sure you know, bash is a shell that's used to enter commands into various computers (a wide spectrum of machines; it's available on most machines in one way or another). While it is also used for programming, I'd say its primary use is general computer use and/or system administration. I have no statistics for that, but I wouldn't say that it's used primarily for actual programming. It certainly isn't only used for programming. My impression is that you may be conflating the computer use that you do day-to-day with the portion of what you do that is actual programming. — Makyen 1 min ago

I hate to say this but, there is no consensus amongst moderators, and this is not a new problem. Eh, the problem here is that if it is that mod, we know they have a history of flag declines I can only classify as weird. They go against meta policies, and policies established by the company, and we now have at least 5 posts (hopefully we can encourage other people affected to step forward as well to get the full idea of what we're dealing with) that were handled by the same mod. Part of the problem is Bhargav and I handled a great portion of these flags and I'm now on a break. As a general note regarding your answer: in your computer you don't press "download" to every app you find, but read carefully about it, right? Do the same before handling flags, please: read when they should be marked helpful and when declined, when you should take action and when not. There are hundred of FAQs both on MSE and here on MSO. I take the 2+ year period I stayed away from meta as an excuse. When you came back, you should have read everything about flag handling. An uninstall problem with a programming tool like [anaconda] is on-topic. Basic issue I see here is that you got way too many views from people that don't know beans about [anaconda]. That doesn't slow them down to vote, or call in the help of a chat room filled with people that don't know beans either, or invoke the help of a moderator that doesn't eat beans, or get a room owner to respond that serves meta beans. As for editing old posts, I can't find it now, but I remember reading advice that said editing old posts had the side effect of bringing them back front on the issues lists (when sorted by activity), so they should only be done if a significant improvement was done. I've taken from that advice that typos or small presentation changes should not be done on old posts, only sizable edits. As as result, I tend to accept tiny or small edits on recent posts but reject them on older ones. Do you agree with that approach? — joanis 59 secs ago
@joanis If someone is editing a ton of stuff all at once, yes, it's bad because it can flood the tag view of that tag with outdated questions (though I also think it's not too much to ask users to put some effort into reading dates and clicking a few buttons to get to the questions they want to see). However, 1-3 questions at at a time (e.g. a day) is not problematic even for low-traffic tags. — TylerH 1 min ago
