Does anyone know how to create a folder in the phone base directory? I am not talking about creating a folder inside the app, but in the base directory where the folders Download, DCIM, Alarms, Music, etc. are

but just take care or runtime permission in android version 6 +

It appears to be creating the folder, but I cannot find it anywhere when I look for it or search by its name

@AshuKumar It is not creating the folder, when I Log the result of folder.mkdir() it returns false, just like the .exists() method. Strange, I do have the permissions set in the manifest for read and write, what might be missing now?

Awesome, finally can see the folder in the android file manager, but can't see it in the pc for some odd reason. probably cached

Yup, that was it, a simple usb reconnect and the folder popped right up, thanks a lot for the help @AshuKumar !

Having a layout problem. I have a framelayout with a view inside of it. The Parent (framelayout) is set to wrap_content, both sizes. The child is set to match_parent, both sizes. What I am trying to do is to scale down the child and let the parent adjust to the child's new size after scaling, but it never does. The child scales correctly, but the parent stays at the same size the child had initially, don't understand why it doesn't adjust automatically

so it seems that scaling a child does not change its width/height, which means the parent will never adjust itself because wrap_content adjusts to the children's width/height. wondering how I can overcome this problem

all I want is to have a 9patch image that doesn't scale like the view it is bound to

I want it to have the child width and height, but not to resize itself

like a 3dp border, if it is bound to a child it measures 3dp, but if the child scale is set to 0.5 then the border is also scaled to half, which is not what I want
