You connect to your socket.io server .

As soon as you connect on server this connection event is fired

and the function listening for it , gets executed

[which is ur code ] now makes sense ?

in that function the argument thats passed is automatically YOU or your connection socket

so if you want all sockets you can either use io.sockets or just manage the sockets in an array
