That's not my code. Honestly, the alert is the smallest problem. The biggest one is the abomination which is that conditional expression. Secondary problem is the horrible error message template. Hint, try to add a validation for "email" and try to read the resulting error message ("a email"). Final, subtle problem is the pervasive omission of semicolons. Makes for yet another sacrifice to ASI, because there was some code before the conditional operator which now worked differently.
But yes, alert is also a problem.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ my current project at work uses async. The most annoying part is other (non-JS) developers who are overcomplicating things like doing return Promise.resolve(true) inside an async function.
I mean, OK - it's work code. It also has other problems. However, of the problems that pertain to asynchronicity, it's mostly non-JS developers overcomplicating stuff.

Quick question about adding rel="noreferrer noopener" to anchors... is this only needed when linking to an external site AND when opening the link in a new tab/window or any time you're linking to an external site?
