Anyone know if all the contents of a webpage stored in memory?

If there are some large assets on a page, will it still be stored in memory?

Do you mean server side or client side?

Not sure exactly what you mean since it makes it’s way to memory either way.

@JBis As opposed to being stored on the disk? I am fairly certain that the page is entirely loaded in memory but you can stream contents to it. For example, that's what YouTube does.

@VLAZ well here's my concern, I'm building an image manager app and I'm unsure if chromium can handle 1000s of images without using tons of memory. I can paginate it if necessary but ideally I wouldn't.

@JBis I'm not sure, then. I am under the impression that any resources currently loaded stay in memory but I don't think I can guarantee it. It's possible that a browser optimises this as well. I've apps that allow infinite scrolling which definiteily explicitly unload earlier results. So, for example you see items 1-20, you scroll down to number 15 - it loads another 20 and as you scroll down it unloads the first 20.

That was in quite a modern apps as well but I can't remember examples.

So, it seems like a way to handle something like your case - not to keep (potentially) thousands of items in memory.

It's also a PIA if you actually want to search for something, since you need to scroll down to load the next batch, Ctrl+F for something, scroll down again and so on.

been a while since i've used mongoose, but when i did, it swallowed all errors unless i was specifically listening for them

mongoose is a querybuilder for mongodb built in node.js

Hey everyone, I'm using react native to build an application. I'm building the auth flow now. A get started button displays a modal that allows the user to register, then if they have an account login, or click forgot password. Register, login, and forgot pword are all meant to be modals. Is it better to display one modal and change the content somehow or have the modals display the other modals depending on what's pressed?
