I'm trying to create an live chat and I found socket.io or websocket with using nodejs. I have tried it in my local, and it works. But I just wonder.
In my local, in order to run it I need to run the server.js like "node server.js" in terminal.
My question is, during in production site. Do I need to run it like that after I install node? Sorry I haven't tried it in production so I just want to gain idea before I proceed to that. Thanks.

Well, you will need to run the application if you want to use it

Most people don't directly invoke the binary from the shell though, if that's what you mean

Some people use pm2 or even forever or something like that

Others wrap in Docker

And others use even more overhead because "that's how you do it"

but summarizing, I was thinking of prototype objects as having a pointer to the parent prototype in the chain, when they actually have a prototype object on themselfs referencing the parent prototype, which makes more sense and fits the rationale of inheriting there
