it checks if message at position a which is most left meaning the newest is bigger than the one on b. which is the most right and oldest in the array and says if the newest's time stamp is the biggest then return a if b is then return b and set a default a. But if b is the fartest most right in the array shouldn't it be checking the one that just came before and not the oldest against it?
