Electron app. I have an os menu bar item that, when clicked, needs to get information form the window in which is was clicked (aka Main needs to access Renderer) how can I do this?

never used Electron, I'll pass on this one

The other option is simply having a variable in main that holds the value constantly and trying to sync the renderer and main variable with events.

Oh I guess I can send an event from main to the renderer that tells the renderer to send an event to main with the info. But that feels like terrible design.
