I was reading this question(How to get Unicode characters into HTML output) and because his intent is simply to ouput the text to HTML, I was wondering if there is a command that simple does binary dump of the containing content? I could see this being useful in maybe embedding certain types of ...

one solution the quite weirdly works is to output latex as HTML

kinda defeats the purpose of latex though

if you want to count the length of a string in chinese multivariable byte encoding isn't ideal

which is basically all you need to worry about in north america

I would go as far to say they should have put n with the squiggle and the five accent vowels in the ascii standard

Its six more characters and effectively the next most common language could use the default str.length and everything else functions

I think spanish really only have 6 additional characters

there is no n with accent in spanish

its n with tilde instead

its the next most common ASCII language

then german should have been addded

that would have covered the most important latin based languages

and it would have required removing old character encodings

they should have jammed german into ascii
