@monners It depends on her age when i was 13 scratch was a fun langauge for me scratch.mit.edu and i wrote a lot of code in scratch, It was just incredible because the community is very well managed and extremely helpful. Had java been my first language i'd stop writing code ffs. Python is also a very valid candidate for age 16+ (In india we are moving to teaching people python in last 2 years of school) and python is also extremely readable.
