But the harassment has come to chats.

Now, there is no real way of flagging things for moderator attention on chats, so this was the only thing I could think of.

I can tell you it was Jacob. I've been keeping a close eye on his rep. When I receive a downvote, I'd go to his profile, and see his rep score decrease by 1. It's very incriminating, although I have no proof, but the moderators do.

I don't like Jacob's attitude. I'm not going to stalk him, but I certainly intend to pay attention to what he does on the main site and in the Python chat room.

Thank you, neither do I. It is very belligerent and disrespectful. However, it isn't only that. His actions have really made me sick of the site over the last 2 days.

I can't do much about his behaviour on the main site, apart from leaving comments when appropriate. But I do have a bit more power in the chat room, and I don't intend to let him get away with crap.

Don't worry about the stars, they're trivial.

I may be reading too much into it, but when he stars them, they're usually starred by more. It really makes me feel... not welcome here.

When ROs see stuff that's been inappropriately starred we usually unstar it.

It usually doesn't happen fast enough, and by the time it's removed, a lot of people have already seen, and starred it. For example, in trash, you'd see two people starred it, including him. So I'm wondering whether he's in cohorts with someone else

Please just try to ignore him. He's pretty new, and as I said above, he's only been in Chat a couple of times. And if he doesn't start being a bit more respectful of SO standards and our room culture, he won't be welcome in the room.

I saw him making an impertinent remark to Antti the other day. Antti didn't respond tit for tat, but he did move the whole conversation to the rotating knives. So I assume Antti will also be watching how Jacob behaves.

Anything, anything he can do, he'll do it.

Normally, the system is pretty good at reversing serial votes. But if it's an on-going problem you should bring it up with a mod. Our Python mods are all pretty busy, but Jon's pretty sympathetic. But if you do do that, try to be diplomatic, and don't make wild accusations, or you'll just come across as being paranoid.
