Q: Textureview rendering Video in UI delay

I've used RN professionally, Flutter only a bit in side projects but if I was starting a fresh cross platform project it would be Flutter without a doubt. The community is fantastic behind it. I find the RN eco system a complete mess and more often than not you have APIs which have been supported for iOS but just completely neglected on Android. Facebook seem to be extremely slow to move to newer versions of Android as well.

The one thing RN has which is better than Flutter is the ability to release updates without having to update the APK in the store

This is when you have your RN bundle stored in a server and your app would constantly check your the latest version of the RN bundle

In terms of actual performance, Flutter is better, the dart code gets compiled to machine code instead of having to go through the JVM. Unlike RN where it has to go through JS engine and then through JVM before getting compiled to machine code.

Note: You wont see the full potential of Flutter in debug mode cause it'll use a dart vm iirc and it'll show the debug tag at the top right of the screen

@Mauker it can be but it's a really neat feature if not abused

If anyone here is wanting to get involved with Flutter and wants to join the Flutter Study Group - A slack channel which has a ton of great Flutter developers, then ping me. I'm an admin there and can add people.

Btw there's a ton of work in Flutter right now, a lot of the devs I speak to are swamped with work to the point they can't meet the deadlines

I can only imagine it'll get more popular once 1.0 is released later this year

@eLi @MarkO'Sullivan Adding my 5 cents to this discussion - I'm developing RN apps professionally for over a year now and must say that RN itself is nice framework for cross platform stuff, but it has it's quirks. You have to know what are you doing, in order to squeez maximize performance stuff

When I am going back to my parent activity there already exist 200 items of them including 5 items and I need to set updated value for them..but when I am executing notifyDatasetchanged() my ui freezing up for some time :(...
