It was an undocumented feature of the AWS SDK that it automatically generates anonymous credentials, caches them for 1 hour and doesn't update them to regular credentials when you log in

but if you just call "invalidateTemporaryCachedCredentials" after logging in, yay it works

Because what happens currently is we're just center cropping your image so if you have a tall photo there's a chance people are just looking at your stomach even though you think you've cropped it to your face. :|
