In germany we have two kinds of university. A theoretical one and a practical one while the practical one can be visited if you dont have a good degree OR worked before. But usally students visitng the pratical university earn more money after (and get a job faster)

Tim, wasnt ment as offense but i tried GreenDao, Realm, Room and several others. All had pro and contras. RealmDB has a great relation-mapping and it's fast while its hard to use with di/dagger. GreenDao was f*** fast but has problems with attach/detatching models. Room is just a product by google which may be "standard" later on

I don't know on the micro level, but usually the homeless we see are drug addicts kids that run out of their home.
Beside those, when usually someone is really on a bad shape and is willing to work to improve it, their families host them or people help them and find them a small job and a small cheap room to rent to get started over (also food has never been an issue, you could eat for free anywhere if needed)
