@nil can you look at the question? something VERY wierd is happening. In my app, if i go to settings it works, if i go to bookmarks, enable and disable edit mode and then continue to settings it will crash. but i got rid of all the code and started from scratch on the table to test some stuff, and now instead of crashing, its a whole new view controller basically. no title, no buttons, a different table type. only thing that makes it like the other view is the table header is the same title.

But they are popular because they hold your hand through the topic at a very basic level. And most people just use that knowledge for development rather than as a base for further understanding of the topic.

And it gets used for cut and paste.

I used to find a lot of simple questions on SO were of the form - "I am trying to do X. I am following Ray's tutorial Y. But it's not working."

I used to keep a boolean in my model that indicates if it's selected. Its then used to draw the selection state in cell. Then if user has tapped a different cell than what is currently selected, update the models Boolean variable accordingly and reload the old and new cells.
