anyone has experienced with using pinch and pan gesture view inside UIScrollview

Been battling with iOS for a bit now

Coming from android, things are interesting

that runs at intervals

you need to be quick its already 11:30 PM here, need to get some sleep :P

so you see in android, I have a service that runs in the background meaning it makes http requests like every 10 minutes

as long as there is internet connection

when I have to do non-infinite operations like send data to server, after am done, I stop the service

not exactly that; what I normally do is hit web service, (Http), store my data in the db then notify UI for changes

but now I have certain operations that I would like to have them run in the background at say every 1 hour or so

Like for instance after user registers successfully, and you want to fetch some app data from server; you wont make them wait for it; you let the app fetch the data in the background when done, you update UI

will this api be called only when app is in active state or even in background ?

yes, make api call like every hour or so

It is okay to trigger the call when you lauch the app

doesnt have to be in the background mode

but you could be using the app and new data is updated from backend

well few points here -: 1) if you want data to be triggered on app launch you can make call in AppDelegate class, under function didFinishLaunchingWithOptions 2) If its regarding a particular view where you want to load data for that view only , when that view appears every time , you can call API in viewWillAppea() method. There is no need to hit API every 1 hour.

@DilipTiwari obviously you need to write down complete code for it
