What I'm trying to get you to do is read through that method and understand what it does. Since I don't have all day, I'll just tell you.

You are doing a lot of stuff in your reset method to build the stack up again. But if you look at the accessor you just posted, you can see that it does all those things for you. So, all you need to do, is set the three objects to nil, which you have done, and then by calling self.managedObjectContext when the iVar is nil, the whole stack is lazily loaded for you.

So all that code to build up the stack you have is pointless, because the first call to self.managedObjectContext after _managedObjectContext = nil; does it anyway.
