Hi folks, can BroadcastReceiver be used to initiate a certain application to run? I mean the installed application is not running but when the subscribed event occurs, the application gets initiated to run. Is it possible? I have not read the whole things about BroadcastReceiver yet.
But I wonder whether or not BroadcastReceiver is the right tool to go.
@JBis I would never do that, I also use different emails for personal use, one where my actual accounts are signed in and others for junk/spam stuff like "you need to be signed in to see this meme" stuff
I'm having a good time with the game, but I'm not familiar with the pathfinder ruleset, so a lot of combat is insanely difficult for me (playing on challenging difficulty) also just got the "manage your kingdom" tutorial but honestly it makes no sense at all. Why is this in the game
Honestly I'm not sure why they decided to add that in, I guess so there's a bit of something else to do if you don't wanna just do the pathfinder stuff
Definitely makes sense though, it took me a while to fully get the ruleset and what was going on
I know that if you manage it badly the game just ends and you lose. But I don't know what you're supposed to do to prevent that. I just assign random guys on missions and building some random buildings in the towns
I decided to stop reading John Horton's book because there are some typos and complicated. I switch to The Big Nerd Ranch Guide version. It looks much nicer. \0

and then I started dating a leah in real life at the same time, and we split up 4 years ago and I'm still not over her lmao so every time I play I'm like ugh I gotta avoid leah
I'm okay I'm just in a weird position right now.. I'm the only software dev here and they're looking to basically axe my position and just outsource all the coding to a vendor
at least from the direction they're heading, and they've opened up two new roles, one is some salesforce dev (YUCK) and the other is a solution architect, which I'm going to apply for
but I'm very skeptical that I'm going to get it, as it is looking for 10 years experience and I haven't actually done much architecture, and haven't done any cloud architecture so I'll 100% in water over my head if I do get it
I had a talk with my CIO hoping he'd be like "ahh well we'll get you more coding work, don't worry" but instead it was like "yeah your worries make sense and you should be worried"
I was originally kind of excited because he was pushing for this solution architect role, but now he keeps bringing up this salesforce one lol I think because he knows I'm not exactly qualified for the other
and the solution architect role was already something I kind of don't want to do as there is no coding.. lol I'm not really sure what to do so I guess I need to brush up my resume
but it makes me nervous because applying for jobs is my second least favourite thing to do, with interviewing coming next
and I've been doing legacy programming for 3 years :\ so I'm quite behind other candidates I would wager
yeah I mean, judging from the job requirements I meet all the criteria other than the cloud-architecture and 10 year experience (I'm at 8)
I could do a course on cloud architecture to fill in that gap, but I don't really wanna take the plunge on that until it's more clear that I might get it
finally they decided it was a good idea to upgrade our java, but then now they're going.. well if we upgrade that, why dont' we entirely rewrite these applications? and they're going to give that work to a vendor
