You are a prisoner in a room with 2 doors and 2 guards. One of the doors will guide you to freedom and behind the other is a hangman --you don't know which is which. One of the guards always tells the truth and the other always lies. You don't know which one is the truth-teller or the liar eithe...

What if you have two guards, both of them are honest but one of them has been taught the wrong door ;)

Neither one of them know who was taught the correct door

Here's another dilemma: You have rebased a branch in git on another branch, git log shows the correct history. git rebase -i HEAD~n gives you the old branch history. Redownloading the branch after git push -f did not help.
