Hi all, if I have a very massive object (due to awesome users) I'm talking aprox 700MB, if I attempt to display that using s.o.println("%1.512s", theObject); will this print line end up using 700mb additional heap space when the toString() is called for the object?
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, will the toString() function be stopped prematurely based on the size limit enforced by String.format(...) but that sounds like a no. Thanks everyone.
It's an implementation detail (aka what I'm saying here is neglible), but it's expected that the toString() method of your object is called during a %s formatting.
