Is it possible to set emulator for taking a picture with quality like Galaxy s3 ?

i made an App in which i implemented a custom camera, and... if i take a picture from a device with quality camera not so high, preview image is shown well, but

if i take a picture from a camera with picture quality very high, like s3 phone,

an out of memory error occured

(but i am notified about this error only when my friend comes here for loading app on his phone)

(and he has got an s3 phone)

however, i'm trying to solve this issue by checking if bitmap loaded size exceeds memory heap

if so, descrease bitmap size.

and another question comes :)....

descrease...but... how much ?

By Bitmap.Options i have reduced image about a fixed size, but... i want to show a preview of picture taken with quality as high as possible

Well that's the tricky part. Probably you have to write an algorythm in your ImageAdapter Class for it, that can manage to free the ImageView-s you are not using, with calling the "myImageView.setImageBitmap(null);"

Or you can also use the recycle() on bitmap

@kinghomer..See man really you will face the problem if you are using the bitmap ,because using the bitmap may always exceed your heap size.. so the lines that i given you need to put in your code and the resize the bitmap properly.. and make the image view null after use. this is the only escapable from OOM.

So what i have used to omit the OOM is by using those lines

and its works 80%

@raman i red about on others post and... method for checking size works but, also if it can calculate right size according to free memory, there's always a chance to get Error. This because out of memory is called also if memory is "quite" full

what I'm knowing is that VIewPager or ViewFlipper takes pre-generated views ya

so what I'm guessing is to replace View(refresh one)
