All support has been on fire for 2 weeks now here

I got 88 open tickets atm, we normallyy aim to keep it <20 :-/

End of year is a super crazy all hands busy season and I thought it would tone down a bit, but geez it took only two weeks and we are full on crazy again

I guess it's mostly good though as business stays up too \o/

for some reason everyone is acting like they have never worked from home before

I had a guy yesterday who didn't understand that computer don't magically know which printer you are sitting next to unless you tell them

Also yesterday I had a glorious one...

he printed the same 82 page document off 18 times, he was connected to VPN so they were coming off the main printer in his office, and that was somehow my fault for wasting paper

Dude was asking us whether the google fonts syntax on his site was correct because: "you are one of the few people using google fonts on your platform"

we'll gloss over the fact that printing off an 82 page document at all is inherently a massive waste of paper

you, as a technical support provider bear responsibility for the fact that the computer doesn't know that the printer next to that guy is the one he wants to use ...

Had a printer issue which would stop a batch job at around the 600th document

The batch was about 1.2K docs

So to check if the fix IT deployed worked, was just to rerun the batch and see if it went past that

Took them like 4/5 tries so we needed to shread 3000 pages

@JoeWatkins Do you have any sodding idea how difficult it is to fit a hypercube inside a mailbox? The royal mail doesn't let you go an inch over the maximum letter size without expecting an extra payment, let alone an entire extra dimension.
