Hi, I made a repo for my script. I added a User-Agent header with a link to the repo. I also added information on my SO profile that my account is used for a bot. Am I now allowed to run this script?
@Gothdo You should have a talk with @Rob - AFAIK, he's doing roughly the same thing and it'd be nice if both of you weren't scraping. Also I believe he's already implemented some throttling, which you're gonna want.
@Gothdo Well essentially it just queries questions and their status (deleted/closed/etc) as well as their votes. Then it simply dumps it into a database for anyone to query. It's not really a tool to do anything, but to provide data. Essentially a live version of SEDE for questions
@Gothdo Sorry, missed your ping before. Yeah - it's down at the moment. It was making too many requests to the close vote popup, and Shog9 asked me to slow it down/turn it off. I've moved it all to the API so it's appropriately limited/throttled (plus it's not directly tied to my account, so they can shut it off at will). Shog asked me to ping him before making it live again, so I'm waiting for him to be around
