Why is the Windows search bar so bad? I have a program installed, it's in the start menu which gets searched (right?) and I type in the exact name and Windows just doesn't find it.

@nwp I think it depends on how often the program is used and most recent usage of it.

because it doesn't look on your computer where to find the thing you looked for the search bar instead asks bing what you want to run

And bing doesn't know what "libreoffice writer" is supposed to be. Makes sense.

Anyone know why clang++ counts pointer-to-bool as narrowing in every -std mode? That's a change to dcl.init between C++17 and C++20, and en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/language/… describes it as "(since C++20)". I don't see any DR about it or a bug on the llvm bugzilla.

That's not even a standard conversion.

Oh, I by "pointer-to-bool" I mean a conversion from pointer type to type bool, not a "bool*" type.

Casts don't care about narrowing. Just implicit conversions inside {}, I think.

Well, to be fair.. pointers are 99% usually much bigger than bools

You could try nullptr != pointer or NULL != pointer, instead 🤷🏾‍♂️

Sure, the C++20 change makes sense since the idea of narrowing is "loss of information", definitely the case in a bool conversion. I'm just curious about the decision(s) to make it "retroactive" in this way.
