@traducerad Whether it's worth it obviously depends on how you measure 'worth'.
Do you measure worth on how much more salary you could make? What kind of people you can add to your network? What kind of expensive equipment that's not available anywhere else? There are of course many other factors.

@traducerad Average starting salary for undergraduate CS is $93,500 at my university, out of state total cost is $55,098 per year. If you take 4 years as debt, a typical payment will knock you down to making about $80,000 a year. Now on average people graduate with $30,000 in debt. With a 10 year loan term this is only $300 a month.
@traducerad MIT has a fairly brutal tenure track process and its basically hell (for anything but CS) unless you're at the top of the pyramid.
@traducerad I'd like to stress that there are many ways to avoid paying full tuition. Average debt is around $30,000 which isn't that much.

@Mikhail not sure how this relates to my observation. I mean, what I saw on tv once is that students were building rockets together and had amazing facilities and so on and so forth. Also it looked like all students absolutely loved what they did they followed courses, studied and even then spent countless hours working on a lot of nice side projects. Which is why I consider it paradise on earth

@TelKitty degree of competence you have after graduating, quality of lectures and lecturers. It often looks like a lot of extremely competent engineers come from MIT

@Mikhail sounds less bad as they make it sound to use Europeans, when hearing about it on tv or reading about it on the internet. Nevertheless, 10 year debt is quite long...
