But AVR has a c++ compiler so it's quite possible that now it use actual C++

@TelKitty you could use an automatic feeder that opens based on the weight of a chicken

a pidgeon will be lighter than a chicken as far as I know and the thing shouldn't open on their weight

If you wanted to go further you could attach a camera and have some kind of chicken face recognition program running

it's cheap sheet metal but I guess you can replicate that easily if you can do it cheaper with better materials

if you can catch a pidgeon, set the required weight as something above as a pidgeon

then the lever and weight to set on the lid should be easy to calculate

@LoïcFaure-Lacroix But how well does that work in practice? I have 3 chickens, they are of different breeds, so their weights are quite different. Chickens tend to move around when they eat, will the lid close suddenly when they move?
