That latency build has no influence here, since it's all userland, no IO (except negligible output writing)

As I said though, I can drop Maybe as I used optionMaybe parser without needing to, since my parser results are strings. option "" parser and then concat results.

Oh, interesting. Alternative's <|> is infixl 3, while Parsec's is infixr 1

Nah. That was MSVC specific. But similar things are available in gcc/clang (since longer) and especially icc (I suppose intel started this to highlight their CPUs as superior to AMD back in ... 200x)
