In some countries such as Mexico,Germany and Austria Prison escape is not punishable by law . just tried making a recursive lambda. I thought lambdas were supposed to make life easy and coder shorter. It defeats the purpose if having them only makes your code longer.

@Rick why would you do this... lambdas are anonymous by their very nature and shouldn't be used for recursion.

@Mgetz just wanted to write a function inside another function, got tired of defining all my functions inside the class.

sometimes you just want an expression that can express logic in as succinct a manner as possible.

like the alphabet, it allows you to compose a plethora of words/ideas from smaller parts.

@Rick So what you're saying is that you used a lambda not for the purpose it's meant for, but just randomly because you felt like it, and then it didn't work? not surprising

Does anyone know why we ended up with such a slow implementation of a hash map (unordered_set/map) in the standard lib?

Why did they not decide to use open addressing?

@Nils I don't think map is slow. Also, linear hashing, quadratic hashing, and double hashing all have issues managing the table. Red-black trees are more maintainable

Anyway... why is this room so quiet.
