when u help at stackoverflow , you want people do mistakes and you help them, you show off your knowledge ,etc, at least in my case it's so and behind your mind i guess similar :P

I help people because I fear I might one day have to read/maintain their code and I don't want to have to hunt them down with an axe when that happens.
