Who wrote the description likely meant "active" as in "that isn't ended yet", but the badge can be awarded also for elections that aren...

I am wondering why the self nomination link is accessible for users who don't have the necessary badges for such. The link takes you to the self nomination form and afterwards correctly does not allow you to submit it. I believe the link should not be visible at all.

I just tried to link some comment from the election page only to find out there is no link on the timestamp. Is this by design? If so: can this be reconsidered. Sometimes I want to link to comments in chat which is not easy to do now.
