@gnovice lol well when you push the rewind and fast forward buttons, that strafes left and right. Using your thumb to scroll around the wheel turns the camera. Pushing the up (Menu) button is also the forward button and opening the door. The centre button switches weapons.

I am trying to merge two structs with identical fields. I tried several ways, such as this and this. But it either turns out sideways or doesn't work at all.
My two (simplified) structs are
a(1).name = 'x';
a(1).data = 1;
a(2).name = 'y';
a(2).data = 2;
and
b(1).name = 'x';
b(1).data = 3;
b(...
This is likely happening because the built-in subsasgn call for the struct probably just compares the output of fieldnames (which is dependent upon field order) for the source and destination structs and does not perform any sorting prior to the comparison (likely because of the performance hit o...
Another possible issue could be a different ordering of fields
I would expect the same (valid) code to give the same results on MATLAB and Octave... Which is not the case here... Which means that you can't just run the same code using the other software and get the same result

@AndrasDeak I suspect two things: 1) I copy the array an additional, unnecessary time, 2) datevec poops out an n-by-6 matrix, of which you need only a single column. So the entire operation is just pushing a shitload of pointless overhead, whereas the cellfun one only extracts the necessary elements
lines 1-60 are the help file, lines 61-91 are input checks, 94-141 extracts all info, and then to 422 to recheck and format the output. No wonder it's slow as hell
