only catch errors that you can do something about. rampant catching makes debugging and testing harder and hides problems

use finally liberally for cleanup though, for unmanaged resources

no. networks and servers will go down, disks will die, files will be not found

access will be denied, etc

ask yourself, "can I really do something with this exception?" If the answer is no, don't catch it

and don't just catch it to rethrow it right away - it makes the stack trace wrong

don't use exceptions for "normal" things. use it for unexpected things

it's much more appropriate to use exceptions for "that wasn't supposed to happen" things

particularly good uses for exceptions are "oh crap if we continue, there will be data loss" types of things. like, if it was a document editor and you detected something is corrupt

can't let it go until they unknowingly save a truncated document

that's what blue screens / kernel panics are all about. the kernel is not sure whether the filesystem data structures are messed up, so it just freezes right there

been a few hours plus you said nvm :D but it is possible to get the dictionary.key from a dictionary.value, and if u wanna know that value exist you can also use this i believe :
mydictionary.values.contain(value);

if you can't get them to work it's something your doing wrong hmmm

the 2nd answer for example, it's Static so you don't need to create any object or anything

just copy paste them somewhere

then write : SquidWebProxyServerLogParser.ParseRaw(put your data string here);

then copy that in a new object or just write var MyLog = that
then put it to SquidWebProxyServerCommaSeparatedWriter.ConvertToLive(MyLog); then u should have a String that is your CSV

hey folks

I'm making a winforms app and creating/removing controls, and I've already eliminated the biggest handle leak but still after 2 hours of intensive use the app crashes and procexp shows several thousand user handles unclosed, and I don't know what to look for next

does visual studio have some analysis option to show undisposed handles specifically?

I've been trying to start analyzer in various modes but couldn't find anything about handles in either of them

I'm using that preview which has all the analyzer/profiler features

please ping me with hints if you have any
