so, I'm using discord.py, not sure if it's really unique to that tho.
there are events like
```py
@bot.event
async def on_ready():
```
and some have args passed.

I've been tryng to make custom ones and I've gotten it to work
but not with args.

using → bot.dispatch("my_event", a,b,c)
if I do:
```py
a, b, c = await bot.wait_for("my_event")
```
from within the on_ready block, it works.
but
```py
@bot.event
async def on_my_event(a,b,c):
```
this doesn't get called.

but... if I fire the event without args
