Q: Finding the coordinates of a letter placed on TextView

I have a textview which contains longs text that covers half of the screen, In this textview I have two words at different position above which I have to place a blank layout which will give it a glass effect. I can do this by placing the textview in a framelayout and placing the layout above...

@yes i have added gcm jar file which is from android sdk-->extra-->google-->gcm-->gcm-client-->dist-->gcm

it say it need int

what is the error?

The method setContentView(int) in the type Activity is not applicable for the arguments (Object)

Can you see the image i uploaded

instead of notification icon, you can use your smily image

For that you need to use either RelativeLayout or FrameLayout

so i got left and right bounds of image and wanna insert it programitcaly in textview exactly same place it is in edittext

You cant insert image into textview

you need to user layout params to align exactly at the place you want

as I did in my proj as shown in the above image

tell me ur idea or show me simple code
