In fact all three reviewers were after the answer had been deleted.

@MarkHurd You can suggest edits to posts 5 minutes (citation needed) within deletion as well, I once did that.

@Unihedron Yeah, but in this case the suggested edit was submitted 2 seconds before the deletion, according to the hover you've displayed and the one on the Suggested Edit Review I've linked to :-(

I once was at the /edit page (pre-2k), then reloaded the other page (I do that, keeping two pages) to see it got removed, so I submitted my edit anyway to see if it works, and it did

It makes sense that the suggested edit needs reviewing because if it is accepted the editor will get points. It's just that this edit wasn't a clear rejection -- as a reviewer it needed more thought than I wanted to give it once I was fairly sure the answer it was editing had gone away.

For similar "scientific" reasons, I'd like to have chosen Edit or Reject and Edit.

It's noticeable when the edit you're reviewing directs to a missing post, as those two buttons will be gone.

Edits are disabled on deleted / locked posts / reviews.
