I can't load up a big library like that, first because it's too large, and second because it's likely to interact badly with some peoples' sites

This is something like the Google Analytics javascript. You want it to be as small as possible because it's going to affect the page load time of every end user site.

The SE sites have horrible UX, that we put up with because we're technical folks. The sites other than SO are mostly subsets of the SO users. What's the long term business plan? Is a bunch of topical Yahoo! Answers site really worth more than selling to Microsoft?

As you can see from my rep, I'm not a heavy user. I just throw my questions in the magical community machine and out pops a solution. I've attempted to answer questions but I usually don't have an answer either.

Q: On windows 7 my volume icon is missing from the system tray

So unexpectedly my volume control is missing from the system tray on Windows 7. I goto the start menu and type volume and choose "Show or hide volume (speaker) icon on the taskbar" and it's disabled in there and set to off. is it possible to update my system from windows 7 x86 to x64 without losing data ? If you mean by inplace-upgrade, no. If you mean by backing up data (carbonite?) and reformatting the drive, then yes. However, will your system run amd64 Windows?
